KANSAS CITY, MO - One person was killed and three others were sent to the hospital following a collision on I-35 near Overland Park early Sunday.

According to KSHB, A 2016 Chevrolet Cruze crashed into the rear of a 200 Ford F-350 pickup at a high rate of speed in the northbound lanes of the interstate near 87th Street.

The impact sent the Ford off the right side of the roadway, where it overturned and ejected both occupants. The Chevrolet came to a rest on the right shoulder.

The driver of the Chevrolet, 28-year-old Martin Perez Trejo, was killed in the wreck. His passenger was taken to a local hospital in serious condition. Both occupants of the Ford were also rushed to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
