INDEPENDENCE, MO - Two people were sent to the hospital after their vehicle was hit by a stolen truck in Independence on Monday.
According to KFOX, officers were following a stolen truck when it slammed into the rear of another vehicle near the intersection of 23rd Street and Hardy Avenue. A semi-truck then struck a nearby power line in an attempt to avoid the collision.
Two occupants of the vehicle that was hit were sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The semi-truck took off before officers arrived.
All four occupants in the stolen truck were taken into custody.
