JOHNSON COUNTY, MO - Two people were injured when their sport utility vehicle crashed in Johnson County on Wednesday night, state troopers said.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol's accident report stated that the accident took place on 809 SW Highway VV at 8:10 p.m.   The driver of a 2023 Chevy Trailblazer was headed west when the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a culvert.

The driver, a 23-year-old woman from Warrensburg, Missouri, and her passenger, a 31-year-old man from Holden, Missouri, were both transported to Research Hospital with what were described as moderate injuries.

The vehicle sustained extensive damage and was towed from the scene.
