JOHNSON CO., MO - A woman was rushed to the hospital after a vehicle she was riding in rear-ended a semi-truck on US-50 Tuesday morning.
According to a report by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred shortly after 9:30 a.m. in the westbound lanes of the highway, between Pittsville and Lone Jack.
Troopers say the driver of a Chevrolet Cobalt was following a Peterbilt tractor-trailer too closely and collided with the rear of the truck.
An 18-year-old passenger in the Chevrolet was rushed to a nearby hospital in serious condition. The 20-year-old male driver refused treatment at the scene.
