KANSAS CITY, MO - Authorities said four people were injured in a multi-vehicle accident that disrupted traffic in Kansas City on Tuesday morning.

According to WDAF, the incident took place on Interstate 435 south near Gregory Boulevard at about 8:22 a.m. and involved up to six vehicles, including a dump truck.

Rescue crews responded to the scene and pulled at least three people from a burning vehicle.

The injured were transported to an area hospital, where one of the victims was listed in critical condition.

The incident shut down I-435 near the crash scene in both directions, and drivers were advised to seek alternate routes.
