JACKSON COUNTY, MO - A woman was killed in a head-on crash in Jackson County on Tuesday morning, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The MSHP's accident report indicated the accident took place on Missouri 150 west of Missouri 7 at 6:44 a.m.

State troopers said the driver of a 2011 Ford F-150 was headed eastbound on MO-150 when the vehicle began to slide, crossed the center of the roadway and struck a westbound 2013 Ford Focus head-on.  The Focus traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck an embankment and a utility pole.

The driver of the Focus, a 27-year-old woman from Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was pronounced dead at the scene.  No other injuries were reported.  Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene.
