CLAY COUNTY, MO - Two people were injured on Sunday evening following an accident in Clay County, the MSHP reports.

The incident occurred at the intersection of US-69 and Cameron Road around 6:40 p.m. A 23-year-old man was driving a Dodge Charger when he rear-ended a second vehicle, a 2016 Volkswagen.

Both vehicles then crashed off the left side of the road. The 67-year-old woman in the Volkswagen sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Liberty Hospital. The man in the Dodge was also hospitalized with minor injuries.

It is not clear what caused the Dodge to strike the Volkswagen at this time.
