KANSAS CITY, MO - A driver sustained critical injuries following a single-vehicle accident on the east side of the city Thursday evening, KSHB reports. 


The crash occurred underneath the railroad bridge at Truman Road and Askew Avenue around 6:15 p.m. 


A driver traveling east in a Lincoln Aviator lost control and hit a concrete pillar.


Police suspect the driver may have been impaired and are conducting a more thorough investigation.
