PLATTE COUNTY, MO - A two-vehicle collision in Platte County on Monday evening left one of the drivers dead, according to WDAF.

The crash took place on Interstate 435 near Missouri 152 shortly after 6:30 p.m.  The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the driver of a 2022 Ford Explorer was heading south on I-435 and collided with a deer.

The accident left the Explorer disabled and blocking the roadway, where it was then hit by a 2015 Isuzu box truck driven by a 28-year-old man.  The Explorer driver, a 56-year-old woman from Kansas City, Kansas, was pronounced dead after being transported to North Kansas City Hospital.
