BUCHANAN COUNTY, MO - Five people were injured following a two-vehicle accident in Buchanan County on Friday afternoon, local news reports. 


The accident occurred in the southbound lanes of I-29 near Faucett. A 26-year-old Kansas City woman was driving slowly on the highway when a truck approached from behind. 


The truck attempted to swerve around the car but was unable to avoid the collision. The car left the road and struck a guardrail while the truck flipped over before coming to rest in the median. 


The driver of the car, along with a 20-year-old female passenger and three young children, sustained minor injuries and were taken to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph. The truck driver was uninjured.
