INDEPENDENCE, MO - Four people were injured in Independence yesterday after a carjacking suspect crashed into several vehicles, KMBC reports.

The suspect allegedly held up the vehicle’s owner at gunpoint and stole his Ford F-350 around 2 p.m. Shortly thereafter, police found the truck and attempted to pull it over near the intersection of Noland Road and Gudgell Street.

The suspect fled south on Noland Road. As police closed in, he entered oncoming traffic at the intersection of Noland Road and Lynn Court, hitting four vehicles.

He then emerged from the wreckage and fled on foot, before being apprehended by police a short time later.

Four people were injured in the collision, including two who required hospitalization.
