KANSAS CITY, MO - One person was killed in a Kansas City hit-and-run on Sunday afternoon, Fox 4 KC reports.

The incident occurred at the intersection of 14th Street and Ewing Avenue around 3:45 p.m.

The circumstances leading up to the crash are unclear but it appears that the victim excited a moving vehicle and then attempted to jump on top of that vehicle before being struck.

The driver then left the scene, leaving the victim in critical condition. They were rushed to the hospital, where they died several hours later.

Police are currently searching for the driver.
