KANSAS CITY, MO - A man was killed on Friday morning after being ejected from his vehicle in an accident on U.S. 169, local news reports.

The accident occurred around 3:45 a.m. on Friday morning. The victim was traveling northbound on 169 when he attempted to take the Shoal Creek Parkway exit and lost control of his silver Dodge Caliber.

After striking a guardrail, the vehicle left the road and flipped over several times before coming to a rest at the bottom of the embankment.

The driver was ejected from his vehicle and died at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time.

Police believe excessive speed played a role in the crash.
