FERRELVIEW, MO - A man from Minnesota was seriously injured when he was hit by a car while attempting to cross I-29 in Ferrelview last Saturday.
According to The Platt County Landmark, 22-year-old Nolan A. Melichar was hit while walking across the interstate near north of the Tiffany Springs Parkway just after 3 a.m.
Troopers say the driver involved, 23-year-old Dustin A. Curtin, attempted to swerve around Melichar, but was unable to do so in time. The vehicle then slammed into a median before coming to a rest.
Melichar was rushed to North Kansas City Hospital in serious condition. Curtin was unhurt.
