ST. JOSEPH, MO - A man was killed this morning when he was struck by a vehicle just after he jumped out of another vehicle driven by a suspected drunk driver in Buchanan County.
According to a report by KAAN, 40-year-old Joshua Lane was heading north on I-29, just south of St. Joseph, when he veered into the median on the left side of the roadway.
While Lane's vehicle continued to drive in the median, his passenger, 57-year old John Cheatam jumped out. Chetam was struck by another oncoming vehicle. He was rushed to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, where he remains in serious condition.
Lane received a citation for felony DWI.
