LAFAYETTE CO., MO - A 21-year-old man suffered serious injuries in a rear-end crash on I-70 near Concordia early this morning.

According to a report by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash took place at about 7:58 a.m.  just a few miles west of downtown Concordia.

Troopers say 21-year-old Ira McArthur was heading west in a 2018 Chevrolet Express van when his vehicle slammed into the rear of a 2022 Freightliner.

McArthur was transported via helicopter to Research Medical Center with serious, potentially life-threatening injuries. The truck driver, a 37-year-old man, was uninjured.

Both vehicles sustained serious damage and were towed from the scene.
