KANSAS CITY, MO - A motorcycle crash in northeast Kansas City claimed the life of an Independent man on Sunday morning.
According to KSHB, 44-year-old Matthew A. Byrd lost control of his 2014 Harley-Davidson on the southbound ramp from I-35 to I-435 shortly before 5:53 p.m. The motorcycle traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a drainage ditch.
Byrd was ejected from the bike and pronounced dead at the scene a short time later. We do not know if he was wearing a helmet when the incident occurred.
