KANSAS CITY, MO - Kansas City police said a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in the downtown area Thursday morning.
According to WDAF, the victim was walking across Truman Road at Grand Boulevard when the accident occurred shortly after 7:30 a.m. Police said the driver of an Audi was going east on Truman Road, went through a green light, started to change lanes and then collided with the pedestrian.
The pedestrian died later after being transported to an area hospital. The driver involved stopped after the crash and stayed at the scene, police said.
