KANSAS CITY, MO - A woman was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a van on Tuesday afternoon, KSHB reports.


The accident occurred at the intersection of East 76th Street and Holmes Road. The victim was attempting to cross the street when she was hit by a Dodge van traveling west. 


The woman then became trapped under the van and was briefly dragged before the vehicle came to a stop. She was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition. No further updates are available on her condition. 


The driver remained on the scene and was released by police.
