PLATTE COUNTY, MO - A crash in Platte County resulted in two hospitalizations, including a 9-year-old child, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred on northbound I-29 when a 46-year-old man driving a 2010 Hyundai attempted to avoid slower traffic by swerving to the left. He then lost control of the vehicle and struck a barrier, which caused it to flip over.

There were two passengers in the Hyundai at the time of the crash. A 9-year-old child suffered moderate injuries and a 50-year-old woman sustained minor injuries. Both were taken to North Kansas City Hospital. The driver was uninjured.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
