KANSAS CITY, MO - Two city workers were killed and a third was injured when a Kansas City trash truck flipped over on Tuesday morning, KSHB reports. 

The accident occurred as the truck was driving north on I-435 and attempting to exit onto Front Street. The driver lost control of the truck and struck a concrete barrier before flipping over and catching fire. 

Three employees were in the truck at the time. One died at the scene and the other two were rushed to the hospital, where a second victim succumbed to their injuries. The third victim sustained serious injuries. 

A Kansas City police officer witnessed the crash and helped remove the victims from the flaming truck. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
