LEES SUMMIT, MO - Two men were hospitalized after a wrong-way driver slammed into a semi-truck on I-470 early Tuesday.
According to a report by the MSHP, the accident occurred just after 2 a.m. as the driver of a 2019 Mazda CX-5, a 24-year-old man, was heading north in the southbound lanes of the interstate near Strother Road. The Mazda then crashed head-on into an oncoming 2020 International semi-truck.
Both the Mazda's driver, and the 51-year-old driver of the semi, were taken to Centerpoint Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
It is unclear at this time if any charges will be filed against the man responsible for the crash.
