CLAY COUNTY, MO - Authorities said a woman was injured when two vehicles crashed in Clay County on Thursday afternoon.

The incident took place on Interstate 29 southbound at the Interstate 35 split, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol's crash report.

State troopers said a 74-year-old man driving a 2010 Chevrolet was attempting to overtake a 2020 Kenworth at about 4:30 p.m. and struck the Kenworth.  A 67-year-old woman who was a passenger in the Chevrolet was taken to North Kansas City Hospital with what were described as moderate injuries.  She is a resident of Buffalo, Missouri.

No other injuries were reported in the collision.
