Woman killed after car becomes disabled on I-435

KANSAS CITY, MO - A woman was killed on Monday night after near vehicle became disabled on I-435, KSHB reports. 


The accident happened in the eastbound lanes of I-435 near Cookingham Drive around 8:15 p.m.


The 54-year-old victim was driving a Chevy sedan when it broke down in the outside traffic lane. She stepped out of her vehicle and was struck by a Ford pickup. The victim was killed at the scene. 


The pickup truck driver remained at the scene.
