KANSAS CITY, MO - A woman riding in a Z-Trip was killed when her vehicle was struck by a carjacking suspect fleeing Kansas City police yesterday.
According to KMBC, the chase ensued when drivers attempted to stop a Dodge Caliber that had been reported Stolen near 45th Street. Once officers made contact with the suspect, he sped away westbound on Truman Road.
Moments after the chase began, the 17-year-old suspect slammed into the Z-Trip vehicle near the intersection with Prospect Avenue.
The victim, an unidentified 38-year-old woman, was ejected from her vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the stolen Dodge was taken into police custody after being treated for minor injuries at the hospital. His 15-year-old passenger was hospitalized in critical condition.
