$240,000 Settlement for Commercial Truck Crash at 191st Street and Mission Road in Johnson County, Kansas

This personal injury case arose from a commercial motor vehicle collision that occurred in April 2023 at the intersection of 191st Street and Mission Road in Johnson County, Kansas. Our client was injured when her vehicle was struck in a T-bone collision by a commercial truck.

Liability and Case Development

The collision occurred when the commercial truck driver failed to yield at a stop sign. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office investigated the crash and determined that the collision was caused by the truck driver’s failure to yield the right of way. Based on the investigation and liability evidence, Foster Wallace Personal Injury Lawyers filed suit against both the driver and his employer to ensure accountability.

Injuries and Medical Treatment

As a result of the crash, our client sustained significant injuries requiring extensive medical treatment. She ultimately required surgical intervention to address a left hip labral tear, which her treating orthopedic surgeon determined was causally related to the collision to a reasonable degree of medical certainty. Her treating physician provided a detailed narrative report addressing causation and the necessity of treatment.

Litigation and Resolution

The defense disputed aspects of causation and damages and asserted comparative fault and mitigation defenses. Despite these challenges, we continued to develop the medical and liability evidence and prepared the case for trial.

The case proceeded to mediation on September 24, 2025. Following mediation, the case resolved for $240,000
